STONELEIGH Stareton Village

Circa C17 timber-framed cottage faced in red brick in C19 and extended to west
with a red brick cross-wing in C20. The old portion is two storeys on south and
one storey and attic on north, while the modern addition is of two storeys.
Timber-framing is exposed in west gable and inside. Steeply pitched plain tile
roof with gabled ends. L shaped plan. South elevation of older portion has
segmental headed casements at ground floor, two of three-lights and one of
one-light; at-first floor two 3-light casements, all with glazing bars. The
modern cross wing projects slightly, and has metal French windows at ground
floor and a metal casement in segmental headed opening at first floor, both with
glazing bars. Brick chimney stack in angle between the two wings.
