8/69 The Old School,
Keenley Crossroads

II

School, now house, dated 1875. Squared stone; slate roof has coped gables
with stone stacks. 1 tall storey, 3 bays. Central projecting bay has
renewed 16-pane sash and bellcote above with trefoil-headed opening, coped
gablet and slab inscribed 'BUILT BY SUBSCRIPTION' with date. Returns of
central bay have narrow 8-pane sashes; flanking bays have 16-pane sashes.
Porches, set back at each end, have square-headed doorways, the left blocked
with an inserted C20 window, the right with boarded door under reset pointed
arch.
