21/6 St. Oswald's Church Hall


GV II

Church hall. Dated 1849 on porch gable. Dressed stone with ashlar quoins and
door and window surrounds. Welsh slate roof. Single storey. Small 3-bay
building with fanciful central gabled porch which has square angle buttresses
with little cross gables at eaves level rising again as diagonally-set turrets
capped by spires with similar cross gables at their bases. Porch gable is capped
by a tabernacle with worn statue of Virgin Mary in niche and spire above. Door
under hoodmould on left return. 2-light mullioned windows left and right.
Similar 3-light windows to rear. All windows are diamond-paned iron casements.
Gabled roof with overlapping coping stones and diagonally-set stone gable stacks.
