3/25 War memorial approx. 15m. NW
of Church of St. Edburg

War memorial. c.1918, inscription altered c.1945. Limestone. Tapering octagonal
shaft with broach stops rises from a square base, with a moulded top, resting on
an octagonal 3-step plinth, the lowest step forming a seat and bearing a
commemorative inscription; the elaborate carved head has representations of the
Crucifixion and the Virgin and Child on the gabled sides, and of St. George and
a bishop on the lesser sides. Included for group value.
