TG 2619 COLTISHALL HIGH STREET (east)

8/25 Grove House

G.V. II

House, mainly C19, but with earlier core. Built of red brick with slate and
pantiled roofs. 3 storeys with 2 storey wing to right and continuous 2 storey
outshut to rear. Western 3 storey section 3 windows with central 2 storey
porch. Porch with double revealed 4 centred arched doorway, first floor niche,
with 4 centred arch, both of gauged brick. Brick pilasters. Parapet eaves
with brick kneelers and modillion cornice. House with 3-light transomed case-
ment windows with brick hood moulds. Moulded brick kneelers, and parapet gables
having end stacks with triple polygonal stacks, those to west with moulded
brick caps. 2 storey wing to east 2 bays . English bond brickwork to first
floor level platband. 3-light transomed windows with hood moulds. Recessed
brick panels above with central coat of arms in stone, with brick hood mould.
Moulded brick cornice and parapet eaves. Good C19 straight flight stair,
and ceiling mouldings.
