Wrought iron gates to the Quarry)

GV II

Gates. Dated 1881. For Shrewsbury Horticultural Society. Cast-
and wrought-iron. Central double gates and side gates between
heavy piers with traceried panels with Salop arms superimposed
and crocketed caps. Main gates cast- and wrought-iron with
very ornate heavy panels incorporating roundels. Smaller outer
gate to left with barbed iron shafts and scrolled decoration.
Cast at Coalbrookdale and dated with initials SHS (Shrewsbury
Horticultural Society).
