Walls, iron fences, railings, gate piers & gates on west &
south sides of West Norwood Memorial Park. c1836 by Sir
William Tite. At the High Street, a low plinth supports tall
cast iron railings in Gothic style; at ends, tall brick piers,
with stone battlemented tops, supporting cast iron double
gates. Running east and north from the northern pier, plain
cast iron fencing. Running east, south and east from the
southern pier, a tall wall of multicoloured stock brick with
stone plinth and top copings; flat buttresses. At intervals,
taller piers with battlemented stone tops. In centre of south
wall, a length of cast iron fencing similar to that on the
High Street end. All solidly constructed to deter
body-snatchers.
