Farmhouse now split into 2 occupations, including front garden wall incorporating
bee-boles. Early to mid C18. Rendered stone rubble and cob. Hipped slate roof.
Rendered stack at left end and rendered axial stack.
Plan: overall L-shaped on plan. Unusual transitional C18 plan,1 1/2 rooms deep,with
principal room to each side of wide entrance passage containing staircase, the
right-hand room with fireplace across rear right-hand corner and sharing axial stack
with narrow kitchen at right end which has salting-house/dairy wing attached to
rear. The wing appears to have been added in the early C19.
2 storeys. 4-window range. C19 style fenestration. 2-light casements 6 panes per
light. Ground floor all 3-light casements 8 panes per light. C20 door. The L -
shaped front garden wall extends from left end of main range, with capping, and
incorporates 9 step-stopped beeboles in all, 2 to the south facing wall and 7 to the
longer east facing wall, all intact.
Interior: Fireplace to right-hand room has rounded back to hearth and chamfered
lintel. C18 2 panelled door to passage. Stud framing and joists exposed in C20.
Kitchen fireplace has chamfered lintel and bread oven. Small panelled cupboard door
with C18 hinges to chamber over right-hand principal room. C19 staircase. One 2-
light window to rear retains rectangular leaded panes.
