House. Circa 1840 with early C20 addition. Stucco walls, shallow pitched slate
roof with wide overhanging eaves and gable ends. Rendered brick stacks at gable
ends.
Double depth plan with central stairhall, a principal room either side and smaller
service rooms behind.
2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window front with original 12-pane sashes without horns
and with contemporary shutters. Central gabled porch also probably original with
roundheaded arched doorway. Original panelled and glazed front door. Contemporary
verandah to either side supported on Corinthian iron posts. C20 slightly projecting
wing to right. Probably late C19 conservatory projecting from left end with
coloured glass windows and door. Irregular windows to rear facade with 3 original
sash windows.
Interior: contains much original joinery including panelled doors and staircase with
turned newels, stick balusters and carved brackets. Both principal rooms have
original marble chimneypieces with reeded surround, roundels at top corners and
decorative arched iron grates. The left-hand room has a decorative cornice and
ceiling rose.
