Cottage. Mid C19. White-washed local stone rubble; stone rubble stack topped with
C20 brick; slate roof.
Plan: 1-room plan cottage facing north. It has a gable-end stack at the left
(east) end. Secondary service outshots on left end and rear. Summerlands is the
left end cottage of a row and was added to an earlier pair, Corner Cottage and
Wellsteps (q.v). It is 2 storeys.
Exterior: regular 2-window front of late C19 - early C20 casements with glazing
bars under low segmental arches. The front doorway is to right and it contains a
late C19 - early C20 plank door under a monopitch hood with shaped vallance. To
right the roof abuts Wellsteps and to left it is gable-ended.
Interior: no carpentry detail is exposed. Summerlands forms a group with Corner
Cottage and Wellsteps (q.v).
