5/6 Range of farmbuildings immediately
to south-west of East Heywood
Farmhouse

Barn and 2 adjoining linhays. Circa late C18 or early C19. Cob walls. Gable ended
corrugated iron roof.
Plan: The buildings form an L-shaped range opposite the farmhouse with a double
threshing floor barn at the centre, a linhay attached at its right-hand end, and
another projecting forwards from its left-hand end, virtually connecting it to the
house, and with a covered entrance to the yard in the corner between the two.
Exterior: Single storey barn with a cart entrance to left and right of centre each
with flanking cheeks and small slits below eaves. C20 leanto built in front of
right-hand end. 2 storey 4 bay linhay attached at right-hand end of barn.
Projecting from the left end of the barn is another 2 storey 4 bay linhay.
Interior: Barn has C20 king post and tie-beam roof.
