SS 54 NE
1/53 Ruggaton Farmhouse

- II
Farmhouse. Late C18 or early C19, but earlier fabric possibly concealed. Stone
rubble with slate-hung facade. Slate roofs, left side with higher ridge level and
gable end stacks, half-hipped to right end.
Plan: interior not accessible so that overall plan and development in unclear, but
appears to consist of a 3-bay range with higher roof level to left, probably with 2
principal ground floor rooms to left of entrance hall. To the right, the lower
range contains an additional service room and a workshop to the right which was
originally heated but the stack at the right end has been demolished.
2 storeys. Main range has all 16 paned sashes. Stone rubble porch at right end
with gabled slate roof. Lower range to right has a 2-light casement, 8 panes per
light over a 16-paned sash to left of loft opening above wide entrance to workshop.
Lean-to at left end of main range.
Interior not accessible.
