Pair of cottages. Early C19 extended to rear in late C19 and early C20. Rendered
stone rubble. Diagonally set yellow brick stacks to each gable end of thatch roof
to front range. Slate roofs to rear.
Main range has principal rooms to each side of entrance hall and small unheated room
to right of entrance at front with additional entrances to each end. The added
range containing service rooms runs parallel to the rear of the main range and
extending a further 2 bays at the right end. Lean-to at left end formerly used as
Post Office.
2 storeys. 3-window range. Narrow eyebrow dormers. Original fenestration intact
with 2 light transomed casements with patterned leaded cames. Ground floor has 2
similar 3 light casements. Thatched rustic timber porches to front and at each end,
with doors to front and right-hand end with studded cover strips shaped to form
pointed arches. The recessed projecting right-hand end of the rear range has 2-
light casements with margin glazing bars to front and similar door to its gable end.
The eaves, gable ends and porches throughout have decorative carved bargeboards.
