3 cottages, formerly a single house. C16 and C17, C18 and C19 modernisations and
extensions. Plastered cob and rubble with some C19 and C20 brickwork; cob or stone
stacks topped with brick; thatched roof partly replaced with concrete tiles to
left. Originally a 3-room and through passage plan with inner room to west (No.
2). 2-storeys with brick gable stacks and large projecting lateral stack, brick
above eaves, to front of hall (No. 3). 5-window front of C19 and C20 casements of
irregular size and disposition, some with glazing bars. First floor window left of
stack of 2-lights with 12 small square panes per casement. Door to No. 3, right of
stack, to through passage. Immediately to right, inserted C19 door to No. 4 with
C20 porch under monopitch roof of corrugated iron. Interior has largely C19
fittings and, therefore, most early features are hidden. Oak plank and muntin
screen exposed on lower side of passage with C16 framing above (now party wall
between Nos. 3 and 4). Side-pegged, jointed cruck roof exposed in No. 4. Hall has
axial C17 beam-chamfered with scroll stops. C19 additions to rear of No. 2 not
included.
