Description

SS 72 SE ROSE ASH

6/99 Munson Farmhouse

20.2.67
II

Farmhouse. Access to land unobtainable at time of survey (1987), description
therefore approximate. Exterior partially inspected. Described in old list
description as "Probably early C17. L-shaped on plan. Rubble and cob with hipped
thatched roof and brick and rubble stacks, one lateral. 2 storeys. Casements, some
with leaded lights. Three window front. Exposed ceiling beams and moulded plaster
cornices. Stair C17, and later one in same manner. Some original panelling in hall.
Numerous original doors upstairs. Base of roof principals visible in bedrooms"
(survey of 1960). The building has been re-rendered with patterned rendering;
windows seen at time of 1987 survey late C20. It is possible that the house is
earlier than the early C17 and the roof structure may be of interest.
