Chest tomb. Late C18. Freestone. Moulded slab, recessed corner balusters
with swags, plain ends, one inscribed, sides have inscriptions in cartouches,
decorated spandrels, moulded base. Inscription to north reads: In/Memory of/
JOHN Keeper/of this Parish who died April 1st 1799/Aged 65 years/The voice of
innocent Abel's blood, err'd loud/For JUSTICE on Cain who by the law was dead/
But O may the blood of our Lord cry more loud/For MERCY on my guilty murderer's
head. -
