MATERIALS: roughly coursed stone rubble; graduated stone slate roof; hand-made brick chimney.

EXTERIOR: the main elevation faces south and is of a single bay and three stories, the stonework and roofline being continuous with that of the property to the left (west), Number 7, and butt-jointed to the right, Number 5.

The front door is set to the left (west) of the ground floor bay window. This bay window is canted, and has reeded pilasters supporting a plain frieze that is corniced to its flat roof, the window being an eight-over-eight hornless sash. The front door is modern, set in a plain opening with a stone lintel over a rectangular overlight. The windows to the two upper floors have projecting sills and rubbed-brick flat arches. The first-floor has an eight-over-eight hornless sash, the second floor is similar but has a half-height upper sash. The house’s chimney is to the east gable, abutting that of the neighbouring cottage.
