COWLING
LANE ENDS LANE
Moor View
(formerly listed as Lower Lane End)

II

Farmhouse, 1677. Squared rubble with stone slate roof. Two storeys, and probably a
3-unit plan, though altered to left. Between the first and second bay is a 2-storey
porch, gabled with an ornamental finial. The outer doorway is chamfered and has a
battlemented lintel, surmounted by an illegible inscription. Another blocked,
chamfered doorway stands on the first floor at left hand end and this has "EH 1677" in
raised lettering. Left hand ground floor is altered to a garage. To the right of the
porch there is a string, with two 3-light double chamfered windows below, and 2 of
2 lights above, all without their mullions. Two ridge chimneys, one heavily tabled.
Interior not inspected, but said to contain a firehood bressumer.
