Range of 7 houses. 1847, for staff of Ackworth School (q.v.). Coursed
squared sandstone, slate roof. Long rectangular front range with varied rear
extensions. Two storeys and 17 bays, the 10th bay with a pediment over a
segmental-arched carriage passage; doorways with rectangular 4-pane
overlights; 16-pane sashed windows with raised run-out sills and flush
rectangular heads. Roof hipped at both ends; chimney stacks mostly forward
of the ridge. Included for group value with school on opposite side of road.
