SS 20 NW BUDE-STRATTON

House, formerly farmhouse. Circa 1830. Painted stuccoed stone with slate roof
concealed behind parapet. 4 rendered chimneys heightened. Rectangular double
depth plan with C20 leantos adjoining at left and right-roofed adjoining at left
and right ends. 2 storeys. 3-bay symmetrical front with central panelled 2-leaf
front door under flat-roofed C20 porch carried on rectangular piers. 2 C19 ground
floor 16-pane hornless sashes and 3 similar first floor windows repeated on rear
front also intact. Platband below ground floor window and below parapet.
Contemporary 6-panel rear door under fanlight with glazing bars is flanked by
engaged fluted columns. Interior. Contemporary 6-panel doors and shutters
throughout. Ground floor room left has moulded cornice and segmental-headed
recess on rear wall. Ground floor room right has ornamental plaster cornice with
acanthus decoration. Modest plaster decoration to hall and stair well. Curved
dog-leg stair with stick balusters and bracket decoration to the tread ends.
Servants stair and cellar.
