1848 dated on plaque in centre gable. Local light red brick with sandstone dressings
and Welsh slate roof. Symmetrical one-storey building with short projecting gabled
end wings. Seven bays in all. Tudor details. Stone quoins, gable copings, kneelers,
plinth and window dressings, which are alternating block chamfered jambs and keyed
lintels. Tudor arched window with dripmould and patterned glazing in projecting gabled
centre bay. Tudor arched doors (now blocked) in inner wing returns. Slit windows in
outer gable ends. Formerly the gatehouse of Springfield House. Reported residential 07/2017.
