8/212 The Old Rectory

Rectory , 1762 extended in second quarter of C19. Squared stone with tooled
dressings; slate roof. Front 2 storeys, 3 bays with flanking l-bay additions.
Plinth, band at 1st floor. 4 steps up to central C20 glazed door, with old
3-pane overlight, in raised stone surround. Sash windows of 12 or 18 panes
(2 altered); those in centre in raised stone surrounds, those in side bays
with alternating jambs (except for window to left of door, which has timber
lintel). Central section has right end stepped and corniced stack, left end
stack rebuilt in brick. Rear elevation shows stair window with intersecting
glazing bars under pointed arch.
