Garden Facade of Hinton
Admiral House

GV II

Terrace wall including stone seat at one end, and bowed platform with flights of
steps. 1905 by HE Peto. Portland stone. Retaining wall with balustraded
parapet to terrace in front of house's garden facade, one end having curved stone
seat at right-angles; in front of centre of house bowed projecting platform, with
L-shaped flights of steps each side. Seat is semicircular with solid stone riser,
seat and back. Piers at each end with Istrian brackets to ends of seat. Seat
rests on low stone dais with stone table in centre; octagonal top on pedestal.
Balustrade of turned balusters and moulded handrails. At 3m intervals and on all
angles associated with platform and steps, square piers surmounted by urns.
