Gate piers 400 metres south
of Whatstandwell Lodge

A pair of gate piers. Late C18. Ashlar gritstone piers, square in plan, each
pier with 'V' shaped rustication above a plain base, a fluted frieze with central
patera to each face and a moulded projecting cap, with shallow pyramidal top.
Ornamental cast iron gates with urn finials to hinge bar and intermediate crossrail
and spear heads to remaining railings.
