Description

SW 7526 MANACCAN HELFORD

6/87 Popigale
15.1.70
GV II

Small house. Circa early C19. Painted rubble with granite lintels and cob to first
floor of front. Scantle slate roof with external gable end stack left surviving from
older, since demolished house, and hip on right.
Single cell plan, extended C20 with lean-to at left-hand gable end. Built into bank
at rear.
2 storeys. 1-window east front. Doorway with C20 ledged door, right, window towards
left and window over, both original 12-pane 2-light horizontal sliding sashes.
Further original horizontal sliding sash at first floor middle of right-hand side
wall.
Interior not inspected.
Garden wall to front with splayed corner is probably part of the front wall of the
original house. Curious but picturesque single-cell house possibly designed to fit
the restricted site.
