SX 38 SE BRADSTONE

Farmhouse. Circa early C17. Rendered stone rubble and cob. Stone rubble to rear.
Metal sheet roof with hipped ends. Slope continued to rear over outshut with
ragslate roof. Rendered stone rubble stack with brick shaft on right-hand hipped
end. 2 stone rubble rear lateral stacks with set-offs. Plan altered. Probably 3
room with cross passage with rear lateral stacks heating hall and lower end. End
stack heating inner room. A second entrance has been inserted into the front of the
lower end. Service rooms are now accommodated in a 2-storey continuous rear outshut.
2 storeys, asymmetrical 6-window front, remodelled in late C19. Ground floor with
three 2-light casements with glazing bars beneath timber lintels. Opening between
first 2 with C19 partly glazed door in partly blocked larger opening. Timber lintel.
Between second and third window C20 lean-to porch with asbestos slate roof. C19
partly glazed door. Rear outshut of 2 storeys with C19 and C20 fenestration.
Interior with brick segmental arches to fireplaces. Circa early C19 roof probably
contemporary with addition of outshut.
