House, originally probably farmhouse. Early C17 possibly with earlier origins and
C19 or C20 addition. Rendered cob walls. Thatch roof gabled to right and hipped to
left end, corrugated iron roof to outbuilding at right-hand end. Large rendered,
probably rubble, axial stack.
Plan: originally probably 3-room-and-through-passage plan, lower end to the right
reduced in height and downgraded to outbuilding. Hall is heated by a fireplace at
its higher end. C19 or early C20 lean-to built against end of inner room.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 1-window front 2 windows to ground floor. Early
C20 2 and 3-light casements. C19 or early C20 panelled and part-glazed door at
right-hand end of higher house part. Lower outbuilding to right has plank door on
its front wall.
Interior: room to left of passage has unchamfered beam resting on moulded wooden
corbels. Room to the right of passage now outbuilding, has very heavy chamfered
cross beam with hollow step stops and fireplace with unchamfered wooden lintel.
Roof trusses over main house probably C19 straight principal rafters and C20 timbers
over the room converted to an outbuilding.
