of Molescombe House

GV II

Garden boundary walls. Probably C17. Dressed slate rubble. Tall walls
with weathered battlements on 3 sides of small garden at south end of
Molescombe House qv. Small round-arch doorway on south west side rebated on
inside far door and with hoodmould. Larger gateway on east side with later
hipped slate canopy and C20 wrought-iron gates. Out side this gateway there
is a small stone mounting block against the wall.
The wall continues in front (west) of house; here it is a low retaining

right to earlier wall to south west of house. At the centre of the
retaining wall steps have recently been formed.
