12/82 Bridhayes Cottage
-

II

Row of 4 cottages. The 2 central cottages may be late C18, the 2 others are
probably circa mid C19. Local stone rubble walls with some cob and slate-hanging.
Gable ended slate roofs of differing heights, grouted to the left-hand cottage. 4
stacks - one to each gable end has 2 axial stacks. The right-hand stack is of
rendered bricks, the others are rubble, the right-hand one of which is rendered.
Originally 4 cottages, the right-hand 2 have been converted to one cottage. These
cottages both probably had 2 rooms - one at the front, one at the back. The 2 left-
hand cottages had 2 rooms at the front, one larger than the other.
2 storeys. Asymmetrical 2:2:1:1 window front all with C19 small-paned 2-light
casements apart from the right-hand cottage which has hornless 16-pane sashes and a
C20 plank door to the left. The adjoining cottage is recessed and has a C20 part-
glazed door to the left. The cottage to its left is also recessed and has an early
C20 plank door to the left of centre. The left-hand cottage has a wide porch to
right of centre with hipped roof supported on granite columns. Behind it is C20
part-glazed door.
Interiors not inspected.
