Farmhouse. C18. Slobbered rubble, stone dressings, stone slate roof. Formerly 2
storeys, double fronted, with an extra 2 bays to left probably converted from former
barn; all on stone plinth. Entrance porch projects between third and fourth bays
and is gabled to just below the eaves. Entrance has milled stone surround and cyma
recta moulded pediment with string course above; 6 panel door. Gable has kneelers,
coping and ball finial at ridge. 2 ground floor and 4 upper floor windows have plain
surrounds, projecting sills and sashes with glazing bars. Left hand bay of ground
floor has low single light window, now blocked and a high window with C20 lintel
and C20 casement. Coping between bays 1 & 2 and 3 & 4. Right-hand gable end
ridge stack and ridge stack between bays 2 and 3. Right-hand return has a very narrow
staircase window rising almost the full height of the house. A chamfered window
in the gable has C20 casement. A parallel range to the rear contains a datestone
inscribed 1688 in the right-hand gable.
