Cottage. C17 or earlier. Whitewashed plastered cob on stone footings ; tiled roof
(probably formerly thatched), gabled at right end ; front lateral stack.
Plan: Single depth, 2 rooms wide with a cross passage to the left, presumably the
hall and inner room of a 3 room and through passage house, the lower end (Pixie
Cottage) rebuilt.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 2 window front. Plank front door at extreme left
into cross passage, 2 small ground floor casement windows, 1 first floor attic
dormer.
Interior: The heated room has chamfered stopped axial beams, the C20 chimneypiece
probably conceals an earlier lintel and jambs. Winder stair in rear right corner of
the heated room, chamfered doorframe between heated room and inner room.
First floor and roof not inspected, roof timbers may be of interest.
