Built by repute in 1567 and possibly of that date. 5 storey carved timber front
with oversailing storeys and 2 gables. Ground floor not original, 3rd and 4th
floors much restored. 1st and 2nd floors have 5-sided oriels on elaborately carved
brackets with continuous windows between. All timbers are exposed and many carved,
but a good deal of restoration has taken place. Occ: Simon Snow, merchant, MP
and Mayor (1653). Entirely rebuilt behind restored facade in 1971. Modern shop
front.
