Kite's Cottage

House. Circa 1500 hall house with floor inserted. Plastered cob or stone rubble.
Thatched roof with hipped and gabled ends. Two storeys. Three/four window range.
Circa C18, C19 and C20 two-light casements with glazing bars. Doorway to left of
centre to cross passage with stone rubble porch with thatched roof. Brick ridge
chimney stacks. Left hand end (south) was formerly an outbuilding. Short wing at
rear with stack in gable end, was probably a bakehouse. Interior: one jointed and
one true cruck truss. Hip cruck in north end. Stopped chamfer ceiling beams.
Central fireplace with chamfered lintel and jambs. Another open fireplace in rear
bakehouse room.
