10/24 Walled garden east of the Church of
St Mary, Barrington Park
GV II
Walled garden. C19. Coursed squared and dressed limestone. Inner
surface of north wall brick. Wall ranges in height from c3.5m -
c6m, being highest on the east where it runs along the roadside.
Saddleback coping on the north and east sides. Flat coping on the
east and south sides. Single plank door within a flat-chamfered
dressed stone surround in the north wall adjacent to the entrance
to the churchyard. Lean-to with higher wall facing into the garden
(formerly forming the rear wall to a range of glass houses on the
north side). Three pigeon holes at the west end. Small
outbuilding with a stone slate roof and an ashlar stack against the
eastern wall. Wall partially collapsed on the north side at the
time of resurvey (June 1986). Barrington Park Estate.
