west of house

GV II

Stables; early C19; Flemish bond red bricks on plinth of copper
slag or glass waste blocks, tiled roof. 4-bay, 2-storey.
Symmetrical facade: boarded door, in 2 halves, cambered brick-on-
edge arch. Window openings only each side, flat timber safe
lintels, cambered brick-on-edge arch above. First floor central
pitching hole, as ground-floor windows but timber frame remains:
blind openings each side over ground-floor windows. Dentil eaves,
but 2 oversailing courses below brick-on-edge dentils. 2-light
gable window off-centre on right return. Later lean-to against
right gable.
Internally timber trough and rack largely survive: collar and tie-
beam trusses. Included for group value.
