GV II

House. Early C19. Solid rendered walls. Slated roof, hipped
front and back. Rendered chimney on ridge. 3 storeys. 2
windows wide. Ground storey has round-arched doorway with
flanking pilasters and entablature to left; 6-panelled door
with knocker, the 2 bottom panels flush, fanlight with radial
bars and 2 Gothic arches in centre. To right, 8-paned sash
window in recessed box frame. Upper storey windows narrower
with barred sashes in concealed frames: 6 over 6 panes in
second storey, 3 over 3 panes in third storey. Deep, plain
eaves-cornice. Right side wall, facing side courtyard of No
48, has 2 blind windows in each upper storey. Eaves-cornice
continues round, here supported by paired brackets.
