Description

ASHBURTON

SX76NW Blackmoor Farmhouse
849-1/3/2

II

Farmhouse. Probably C17 or earlier. Stone rubble. Slated roof.
Large chimney in rear wall. Seems to be 2 rooms with
agricultural section (in the manner of a longhouse) at
left-hand end. 2 storeys. House part 3 windows wide with
doorway to left. Small-paned wood casements; late C19 entrance
porch. Left-hand section has doorways in both ground and upper
storeys, the latter with lean-to wooden porch approached by a
flight of stone steps. To right a lower section of domestic
character, apparently converted from a farm building.
