Terrace of 3 town houses, now shops with accommodation above.
c1838. Roughly coursed Killas with granite dressings; grouted
scantle slate roof over No.17 (middle) otherwise replaced by
asbestos slate; No.17 has cast-iron ogee gutter. Double-depth
plan. 3 storeys; 6-window range with 2-window-range to each
front. Keyed flat stone arches over original 16-pane hornless
sashes except where glazing bars have been removed (first
floor right of No.17 and all of No.18). Round-arched doorways
to left of Nos 16 (left) & 17; No.16 has late C19 double shop
front with original terminal pilasters and moulded cornice
over the fascia. (Original slender columns and other details
lost when shop windows replaced June 1989); No.18 has late C19
shop front mostly obscured. INTERIORS: shops altered C20,
otherwise not inspected.
