5/178 Talbot Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Dated on shield in front central gable 1866, with minor C20
alterations. Random limestone rubble, stone dressings and raised long and short
quoins, stone tiled roof with raised coped verges and kneelers, paired gable
stacks. T-plan. 2 storeys and 3 windows, central bay projecting with gable,
ground and first floor have 6-light windows with ovolo-moulded mullions and
transoms and hood mould, central 4-centred arched opening in porch with hood
mould and 4-light window above. Left return has large external stack, single
light to each side at attic level in eared architrave; lower 2-storey wing to
rear has two 2-light casements at ground floor in eared and shouldered architraves
and 2 similar windows under eaves. Right return has ground, first and attic
storey single light to left of external stack; single storey addition to right
with single light in gable end; rear wing at right return has two 2-Light
casements at first floor in plain surrounds and lean-to with pitched roof and C20
glazing, formerly open-fronted sheltered area. To rear, an attached 1½ storey
block with 2-light casement, large gabled porch with door attached to gable end
and two 2-light casements to rear. Interior: not inspected.
