Country House, now subdivided into dwelling units. C16 altered, base of
dressed stone, brick with flush bonded stone quoins moulded stone strings
over windows, stone coped gable ends on kneelers, with ball finials on
apex, old tile roof, chimneys have rectangular bases with stone quoins,
diagonal, brick shafts with offset heads. 2 storey and attic. South front:
E-shaped with projecting gabled wings and central projecting gabled
full-height porch. Between outer wings and porch and along inner faces
of the wings is C18 moulded and bracketted wood eaves cornice. Porch
4-centred arched stone opening with moulded spandrels on ground floor.
Stone mullioned and transomed windows to ground and 1st floor, mullioned to
gabled attics. To left hand of porch is 1 bay of blocked single lights.
Between wings and porch tall gabled attic windows. Also to sides of wings.
Original or restored mullions and transoms with C19 metal lights, the
top panes of which have ogee arched glazing, Flanked by archways with ogee
gabled heads and obelisks, all rendered. North East wing by H. Tanner Jr.
circa 1907. Similar style. Interior: C17 panelling in hall and dining room.
C16-C17 carved overmantel in hall and fireplace dated 1686 in dining room
with Jacobean overmantel.
