Two houses, now shops. Late C17, with later C18 alterations to front. Coursed
limestone rubble, rendered to left; stone ashlar front to centre; gabled stone
slate roof; brick ridge and end stacks. 5-unlit plan. 2 storeys and attic;
5-window range. No.38 to left: mid C19 half-glazed door set in wood architrave
with console brackets to flat hood; timber lintels over C20 windows and
first-floor 8-pane sashes. No.36: C20 door and shop windows; timber lintels over
first-floor 6-pane sash. 3 gabled roof dormers. Late C17 wing of similar
materials to rear left: of 2-storey, 2-window range with end stack of stone
finished in brick and cross-gable to right. Interior: cased beams and
collar-truss roofs with butt purlins. No.38 has late C17 winder stairs to left.
