SP 0738 CHILDSWICKHAM CP THE CROSS
7/157 Mill Cottage
GV II
House. Circa 1700. Timber-framing with painted brick infill on stone
base. Thatched roof. Framed in two rows of square panels with straight
braces to wall-plate. One storey with attic. Two casement windows on
ground floor. One eyebrow dormer. Left-hand (south-east) gable has
exposed truss with struts below collar and V-struts above. On the ground
floor is a stone oven projection with a thatched roof. Right-hand gable
half-hipped. Chimney on left-hand gable with stone cap. Interior: parlour
has open-hearth fireplace and oven.
