Shaft of cross formerly at junction of Fennel Street and Withy Grove, re-located on this site 1913. Dated 1653 at top of shaft. Sandstone. Two-stage octagonal base with moulded top, shaft square at the base and chamfered above, the base carved with geometrical strap-work and the top with raised lettering "1653" in sunk panels. Mounted on C20 pedestal with inscription recording that it was "preserved to the Hospital by Professor and Mrs Wild An.Dn:1913".
