Thatch Cottage

GV II

Cottage and attached byre, now cottage and garage. Probably
late C17, with C20 alteration. Coursed rubble sandstone, left
end on brick plinth; red brick and pantile dormers in thatched
roof; centre right and left of centre brick stacks.
Originally, hearth-passage plan with attached byre. One storey
and attic; 2-window front. Central C20 half-glazed door:
garage door at left end. On ground floor, windows are 2-light
small-pane casements with painted timber lintels. In attic,
windows are similar in raking half-dormers, with unpainted
timber lintels.
