House. Early to mid C17 with C18 and C19 additions to each end.
Thin coursed rubble,dressed quoins, stone slate roof. 2 storeys.
2-cell direct end-entry plan. Doorway with composite jambs, deep
lintel with broad chamfered surround. 2 double-chamfered mullioned
windows; one of 5 lights, one of 4 lights under single hoodmould
with straight returns. 1st floor has double-chamfered mullioned
window with almost square reveals; one of 2 lights (lacks mullions),
2 of 3 lights. Coped gables with kneelers to left. Single stack
to ridge. Rear has 2 chamfered mullioned windows of 2 lights and
2 single-chamfered lights (both blocked). Attached to left is added
single-cell with doorway with composite jambs and gable stack.
Attached to right is 2-cell C19 cottage with central doorway with
monolithic jambs and 4-panel sashed windows to either side. Gable
stacks. Right return has lst-floor doorway approached up flight of
stone steps to former wool-comber's workshop.

Interior: Housebody has baffle-entry and stop-chamfered spine beams
and floor joists. Parlour has large single spine beam with broad
chamfer.
