SJ 51 SE WROXETER C.P. SMETHCOTE

Farmhouse, now 2 dwellings. Probably late C17 with mid-to late C19
remodelling. Rendered timber frame, partly refaced or rebuilt in
painted brick; plain tile roofs with partial catslide over outshuts to
north. L-plan; hall range with gabled flush cross-wing to east and
outshuts in angle to north-west. Raised quoins and sprocketed eaves
to south; large brick ridge stack off-centre to east and stack off-ridge
to north. South front: 4 windows; 2- and 3-light mid- to late C19
wooden casements, small square window between first and second first-floor
casements from right; entrances to east and west. Interior not
inspected but said to contain panelling and likely to be of further
interest.
