House, and attached laithe-house. Mid and later C18. Hammer-dressed stone,
ashlar dressings, stone slate roofs. Laithe-house has single-cell 2 storey
cottage. Quoins. Doorway with sill tie next to 5-light flat faced mullioned
window, the central light slightly larger probably sashed originally. Same
over. Altered glazing. Single sash window. Barn has cart entry with segmental
arch over which is Venetian window. Mistal doorway has tie-stones. One stack
to ridge. Attached to northern end is 3-bay house with higher roof line. 2
storeys. Raised rusticated quoins. Doorway with monolithic jambs has
pulvinated frieze and cornice. To either side large windows with raised
surround formerly sashed with modern glazing. Eaves band, moulded gutter
brackets. Right hand return wall has semi-circular arched window with raised
impost and keystone to attic. Rear has 5-light flat faced mullioned windows
(blocked to 3 lights) to 1st floor, altered to ground floor.
Interior: House has fireplace with pulvinated lintel and cyma moulded shelf with
contemporary cast-iron range.
