Description

UPPER SLAUGHTER
SP 1523
9/191 Lower Farmhouse and
Barn and Stable to East
25.8.60 (previously listed as Lower
Farmhouse )
GV II

Farmhouse with barn and stable. Cl7, extended c.1700. Rubble, right hand bay with
alternation in the coursing, Cotswold stone roof, coped verges and moulded
kneelers, 3 ridge chimneys with moulded capping; 3 gabled dormers. 3:1 bays,
3-light mullioned windows, and a two-light one over the paired central doorways
(originally only one doorway); glazing bar sash windows in rebated surrounds
(probably originally with cross-mullion windows) to right. This house may have had
dormer-gables but it was probably re-roofed when the right-hand bay was added.
Single storey extension to right with slate roof is a small barn; next to it is a
stable of c.1700 with corrugated iron roof, granary steps at gable end, on north
side two 2-light mullion windows and a central doorway.
