With Nos 1 to 9 (consec) The Strand. Structures C18 but very altered and modernised. One-storey row, taking up most of the west side of the street.
The houses form the top floors of Nos 1 to 9 the Strand, (qv), the level
of Monmouth Street being 15 to 20 feet above that of the Strand. As the
chimneys serve the full height of the buildings, they are very large in proportion to thw Monmouth Street row, and contribute to the picturesque
and unusual effect. Brick and roughcast fronts, fairly steep roofs, some
with old tarred slates. Some dormer windows. Included for group value.
All the listed buildings in Monmouth Hill form a group.
