SS 80 NW SANDFORD EAST VILLAGE

1/235 Oaklands Cottage

GV II


Cottage, probably C18, extended circa 1920, modernised 1984. Plastered cob on
rubble footings; rubble stack topped with C19 brick; thatched roof. Originally
a 1-room cottage facing south built onto east end of Oaklands (q.v.) It had east
end stack, now since circa 1920 1-room extension. Now central door with 1 window
on each floor to left, both C18 casements with glazing bars and early thin glass.
Plain carpentry detail inside.
